Green tea vs white tea

Green tea has become increasingly popular in recent years. It has become an integral part of some of the best diets you will find. There is however, a new kid on the block!

White tea is fairly recent and is by all means a much better and healthier tea than both green and black tea.

Both White tea and Green tea originate from the same plant, namely the Camellia sinensis. White tea is harvested earlier than green tea and is not fermented at all. Green tea is partly fermented while black tea is fully fermented. Fermentation reduces the antioxidants existing inside the tea leaf and thus White tea and green tea are both deemed healthier than black tea

So, what exactly differentiates White tea from green tea?

For starters, White tea has a much better taste than green tea. The taste is gentler and sweet. There are also more delicious flavors being made for white tea such as blueberry white tea.

Another difference in the “white tea vs green tea” debate is the fact that White tea has far more antioxidants than green tea. It is this that will be the main reason for most people to shift to drinking white tea. Antioxidants have a number of benefits as discussed in our other post titled “white tea antioxidants”

Finally, White tea has less caffeine content than green tea. This can be vital to those who want to cut back on their caffeine content.
